If we understood what it means to divorce, we won't be so quick to do it. Did you know that the only time you are permitted to divorce and remarry, is when your partner cheats? However if you choose to divorce based on any other reason, you can NEVER remarry? Doing so would be adultery. It's amazing how we have completely ignored or twisted scriptures to suit our selfish desires. 

In Matt 5:22 Yeshua said "But I say that a man who divorces his wife, UNLESS she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery." Matthew 5:32 NLT

Apostle Paul also talked on this issue and was very clear. NEWSFLASH: it's not what we are practicing today as Christians. In 1 Corinthians 7:10‭-‬11 he said, But for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me, but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband. But if she does leave him, let her remain single or else be reconciled to him. And the husband must not leave his wife.

So if you leave your partner, you MUST stay single FOREVER. If you marry, you and your partner commit adultery. So divorce based on any other factors other than cheating is possible but you cannot remarry. The best thing to do is to separate with possibility of reconciling in the future. How many people are walking around in adultery? Married to other people's soulmates?

God made these rules for a reason. In hindsight, it's clear that he knew the institute of marriage would be exploited as we seeing today. People marry for all kinds of stupid reasons and then divorce and remarry again. With this rule, just like every other, we would do things genuinely and not because there's always an easy way out.

So don't let anyone deceive you, God isn't ok with divorce. And it's not ok to divorce and remarry unless you were cheated on. Let's do the right thing first and foremost and we won't need to deal with these things the hard way.
