Greenleaf Soundtrack: Volume 2 is Naacp’s Outstanding Gospel/Christian Album

Going into this year’s awards season, the Greenleaf Soundtrack: Volume 2, released by RCA Inspiration and Lionsgate, a premier next generation global content leader, continues to garner accolades, taking home the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Gospel/Christian Album (Traditional or Contemporary) at the 49th NAACP Image Awards, as well as a nomination for the upcoming March 2018 Stellar Gospel Music Awards.

Nominated for the Stellar Awards’ Special Event CD of the Year, the acclaimed collection from Season 2 of the hit OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) original series Greenleaf, features songs from Kirk Franklin, Le’Andria Johnson, Jekalyn Carr, Koryn Hawthorne, Deborah Joy Winans, Mavis Staples, and more.

The acclaimed collection, Greenleaf Soundtrack: Volume 2, continues to garner accolades this awards season, featuring award-winning Gospel greats and newcomers!

The 2017 installment of songs from tv show Greenleaf follows the second season A Kingdom Divided, and features a blend of traditional and contemporary gospel gems. Includes 123 Victory (Kirk Franklin), Shine The Light (Deborah Joy Winans), The Root [Remix] (Mavis Staples), and more.

The Greenleaf family, which runs sprawling Memphis megachurch Calvary Fellowship World Ministries, appears to be a loving and caring clan. Beneath the surface, though, exists scandalous secrets and lies. Greed, adultery and sibling rivalry are among the issues that threaten to test the family’s faith and tear the group apart.

The scandalous happenings are uncovered by Grace, the estranged daughter of church leader Bishop James Greenleaf, when she returns home after a 20-year absence. Oprah Winfrey has a regular role on the show as Mavis, Grace’s aunt.
